Competitions are an important part of the club programme. They are fun and a great way to learn and to improve your photography. Even if you disagree with the judge you will be learning to analyse pictures and what makes them work |
| As well as the internal competitions the club takes part in a number of interclub battles and has had a very good success rate. |

COMPETITION RULES
|
- All paid up members may enter.
- An entry may consist of up to 2 prints &/ or 2 digital imges. It is preferred that you do not enter the same image in different classes.
- A digital entry shall be in jpg format and supplied on either CD, USB flash drive or via e
mail or through the online entering system above. max width 1024 pixels, max height 768 pixels. Please make sure the title and your name are in the exif or meta data. How to do that is here
- Entries may be home or trade processed.
- Prints must be mounted and one side to be no less than 8 inches. Max mount size 50 cm
by 40 cm. 20"x16"
- All entries must bear the owners name and title where appropriate.
- Any picture not placed in the top three positions may be entered again in further
competitions. A maximum of twice in total.
- Copyright to the picture must be the property of the entrant.
- Digital Images. The copyright to all the components of a composite image must belong to
the entrant.
- Marking. The judge will be asked to mark out of 20 . Scores from each of the 5 rounds
will be cumulative to determine the overall winner.
- Awards: A trophy and certificate for 1st
- A certificate for 2nd & 3rd
- A trophy for 1st in print//digital of year.
- The decision of the judge is final.
- Panel Competition.
- A panel shall consist of 4 images and have a recognisable theme linking the
pictures.
- Each member may enter up to 2 panels per section.
- Prints must be mounted and minimum 7inches x 5 inches.
- 4 small prints on a single mount are accept
